Stuart is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in the world of cricket and ended his first full season by making his England one-day debut v Pakistan.

Stuart has just signed his first professional contract with the county after coming through the academy system. He is a genuine all-rounder and is the son of former Notts and England star Chris Broad. Made first class debut v Durham UCCE in 2005 and broke into the championship side soon after and responded with some positive bowling performances. Picked up brilliant match figures of 7-95 in the amazing championship win v Worcestershire in 2005. Having been selected for England U-19's, Stuart grabbed two four wicket hauls in each of the two one-day matches with Bangladesh U-19's. Finished his debut first class season with 30 wickets and deservedly gained selection for the ECB National Academy squad and was also represented England A during the winter. Started off 2006 where he left off and took new career best figures of 5-94 and was also played for England A recently in the tour match with Sri Lanka and claimed 3 wickets in the second innings.
