Rudra Pratap Singh was announced as Leicestershire's final overseas player for 2007 in March. The 21 year old has played in 2 test matches and 20 one day internationals for India and narrowly missed out on a World Cup place. RP is deceptively quick left arm seamer who can swing the ball both ways and joins Stuart Broad to spearhead the County's exciting young opening bowling partnership.

Pradeep Vijayakar, assistant editor of the Times of India newspaper said 'RP Singh is a fine bowler. He has what it takes, bowling discipline. He knows his limitations and bowls within them. He tries a few things and keeps at that.
That's why at the death he can be trusted to deliver the goods. He only needs
more match practice against destructive batters to fine tune his bowling. For a
Twenty20 game I would bet on this lad. He delivers the ball from a height and
this high action is a winner. He is not afraid to go round the wicket which adds to his wicket-taking ability.
He is something like Aussie Bruce Reid.'
