James is new to the Leicestershire squad for 2008 and brings with him the repuatation as being one of the most highly rated youngsters in English cricket. The 18 year old opener was England's top scorer in the U-19 World Cup in Malaysia at the beginning of 2008 and will be available to play for the County from late June after completing his A-Levels. James has previously appeared for Worcestershire 2nd XI and Shropshire and is originally from the Leicestershire area.
