South African Jacobs signed for Leicestershire in mid May as a Kolpak player. The 30 year old, had been playing as an overseas layer with Scotland and hit 49 versus the Foxes in the FPT this season and is also a team mate of HD Ackerman back in South Africa for the Warriors.
Arno has impressive career averages of 38.42 in first class cricket and 33.52 in one-day cricket and also bowls occasional off spin as well as being a handy back-up wicketkeeper. The left hander comes into the Leicestershire squad to bolster a batting line-up that has had a disastrous start to the Championship season.
